CPD videos

Our CPD videos are designed to support safety and behaviour in your school. They have unlimited views and can be viewed by your entire staff team.

The videos are there as awareness raising videos for staff with lots of reminders about best practice and recommended approaches to dealing with behaviour concerns.

The views in these videos are solely that of P&I Training LTD and have been formed using guidance from the Department of Health and Department for Education, amongst others.

Physical intervention and dealing with difficult behaviours

Any staff that are due to undertake the physical session as part of the 6-hour accredited programme should watch all 7 videos in this section. The videos cover legal and DfE guidance, dealing with behaviour and how we record, reflect, plan and share our findings.

There are 2 versions of each video. The larger image directs you to an internal link to view the video and the adjacent smaller link will redirect you to our YouTube channel. The video options are here for you to choose whichever works best for your own computer settings.

There is a short quiz to be completed prior to your physical session to ensure that key points have been viewed and retained. The quiz can be downloaded directly from here.

Prior to any physical session you must also complete a medical check sheet which you can find here.

If you are attending a refresher session then watching all videos is not necessary. You must still complete a medical check sheet and quiz prior to your physical session.

IF YOU ARE USING ONE OF OUR PARTNER TRAINING ORGANISATIONS PLEASE CONTACT THEM DIRECTLY WITH ANY CONCERN YOU MAY HAVE ABOUT YOUR MEDICAL CHECK SHEET AND FOR ANY OTHER QUERIES.

For anybody that has concerns surrounding the covid pandemic you can view the latest version of our risk assessment here. Please review the risk assessment prior to any physical intervention session.

Both the quiz and medical check sheets should be downloaded, reviewed, completed and brought with you on the day of your physical session.

On completion of your physical session you can download your certificate here. The certificate will correlate directly with the signing in sheet that was completed on the day of your physical session. Certificates will not be valid for any staff member who has not completed the physical element of the training.

There are 2 P&I Training manuals available to support your training.

You can access the P&I Training manual here. This manual covers all of the none physical elements of the training.

You can access the P&I holds support manual here. This manual will further support all of the physical elements of the training and also includes risk assessment charts completed with support from Dr Anthony Bleetman.

The guidance that we follow while creating our training programmes is based around the DfE document The Use of Reasonable Force - July 2013. Please click here to view this document.

The videos in this section are here for any staff members to observe whether or not you are taking part in any physical intervention sessions.
